Health & Safety
The Company recognises and accepts the legal obligations in the field of health and safety placed upon it by the Health and Safety at Work etc Act and any enactment set out in Schedule 1 to that Act, which is relevant to the Company’s activities.
It is the continuing aim of the Board of Directors to promote and maintain high standards of health and safety by providing safe places of work, safe systems of work, proper maintenance to all plant and equipment, to minimise personal injury to employees and others who may be affected by the Company’s activities.
The Board of Directors look upon health and safety of paramount importance, and place it on an equal importance as production and sales.
It is the duty of all Managers to ensure that everything which is reasonable practicable is done to prevent personal injury in the process of production and in the design, construction and operation of all plant, machinery and equipment and to maintain a safe and healthy place of work.
It is the duty of all employees to act in a safe and reasonable manner and to do everything which is reasonably practicable to prevent injury to themselves or other persons affected by their acts or omissions. The Company safety performance will rely heavily on the co-operation of employees involved in production.
The Managing Director has overall responsibility for health and safety within the Company. Due to the nature of the industry it is essential to delegate some duties to the Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Manager and members of staff at Regional Offices, who shall be directly responsible to the Managing Director for matters relating to health and safety.
The effectiveness of this policy will be monitored by the HSEQ Manager, who will advise the Board of Directors of any necessary changes which may be required by Statute.
